This is a software service from Dell that allows you to access your home computers (yes, more than one within the same interface) from any Internet-enabled computer.
The program has some free basic features like file and folder sharing, and some commercial features such as remote access to one or more computers through Dell's remote website.
The commercial features are available for "only" $9.95 per month. Which for me, sounds too similar to a free service offered for many years by a company called no-ip. Sure, I know, with no-ip service you have to configure everything yourself while Dell's offer includes easy-to-follow wizards and preset configurations.
But after reading the service features, I realized that it's targeted at home users and has some extra value, so to some extent it is true that knowledge has its cost. I was even able to acces my home webcams, which made me think that could be the only point which would made this service worth 9 bucks montly. But again there is a service that (with a little knowledge and patience) you can get for $0; it is good that Dell makes filesharing easier for the average pc user, but I'm skipping it for sure.
You can try the service free for 10 days. To use it, you must download a program and register for your password.
Besides being able to access your computer remotely, you can also share folders or play specific file types such as music, pictures and videos.
I'm not going to lie to you, Dell Remote Access is very easy to use and eyecandy, so if you don't mind paying for the service and consider yourself a "digital nomad", its excellent for you.
